Self-Read Accounts
  • Bills will be sent out by CKPPD on the 21st of the month or the first working day after.
  • The self-read customer is to pay the amount due on the statement, read the meter, and return them to the CKPPD office by the 15th of the following month.  If the payment is not in the office by the due date, a 2% or $5 penalty, whichever is greater, will be added to the account balance.
  • If a reading is not submitted by the 20th of the month, CKPPD will estimate the kwh used and assess a $10 estimating fee per account.
  • If a meter is estimated one month and the reading is not send in before the 20th of the following month, the District will read the meter, calculate the reading from the 1st of the month, and send a bill which will include a $25 meter reading charge.
  • Please notify us if circumstances make it difficult to submit your reading before the deadline so that an acceptable solution can be arranged.
  • Collection and disconnect policies are established by the Board of Directors.  To avoid any fees - $25 collection fee, $25 reconnect fee during business hours, and $50 reconnect fee after normal business hours – please make payments on a timely basis or call to make arrangements.

Budget Billing

Budget billing is available to all monthly billed Cedar Knox PPD customers.   The budget payment plan allows you to be billed the same amount each month, based on the average usage from your account history.  This helps to avoid the seasonal fluctuations of your electrical bills and helps with your monthly budgeting.   The budget plan is then balanced annually - each June (May usage) billing, is settle-up time.  The total of your monthly electric charges will be compared to your total budget payments that you made throughout the year.  If you have overpaid, the credit will be applied to your account for the next month’s budget billing.  If you have underpaid, you will need to clear up the balance due at that time.

In order to qualify for budget billing, a customer must have 12 months of usage history at their current residence.  Each month you will still receive a billing statement showing the actual energy usage and billing, as well as the budget billing amount that is due and the current account balance.   If you are a self-read customer, you will still need to submit your actual meter reading to the office each month along with your budget payment.  If you are interested in the budget payment plan, please contact our office at (402) 254-6291 or (800) 891-5196.

Automatic Bank Withdrawal
Automatic bank withdrawal, a convenient payment option in which your electric bill payment is automatically deducted from your checking or savings account, is available to Cedar-Knox PPD customers. Options include:

District Read Accounts
Monthly statements will reflect current usage with the notation "Bank Paid. Deducted from account on" and the appropriate withdrawal date noted.

Self Read Accounts
Meter(s) must be read and sent or called in to our office before the 10th of each month. You also have the option to submit your reading here. The bill amount will be deducted from your account on the 5th of the following month.

If you are interested in getting your account(s) set up on automatic bank withdrawal, contact our office or e-mail us at ckppd@hartel.net. You can also enroll in this program by printing out the Automatic Bank Withdrawal form here and sending it to our office at PO Box 947, Hartington, Nebraska 68739.
